From the moment you step in, here’s an outline of your dental implant day with Dental Holiday:
Arrival
Upon arrival, you’ll call us when you pass passport control at Bratislava airport, and we’ll be there to meet you.
If you arrive at Vienna airport, you’ll use the airport shuttle to get to Bratislava airport (45km – 45 minutes journey).
Alternatively, if you’ve arrived at night and stayed in a nearby hotel, the taxi will drop you off at our clinic, where you will be greeted by your treatment coordinator for the day and quickly find yourself at ease in our reception areas. Equipped with tea/coffee or cold drinks, soft loungers, fast wifi, and air conditioning, it ensures comfort and ease.
And if you have someone accompanying you for the day, they can wait for you there as long as they like.
All necessary documentation will be filled in, medication given, and any further questions answered.
Treatment time
Morning
Dental implant surgeries typically start in the late morning. You’ll proceed to the treatment room, where, under sedation and without discomfort, one of our senior dental implant surgeons will remove any remaining teeth and install your implants. This process typically takes about 2 hours per jaw.
Afternoon
Post-treatment, you’ll be guided back to your private suite to unwind and recuperate. During this period, your clinician and our lab team will be crafting your unique initial prosthesis in our on-site dental lab.
Late afternoon
Later in the afternoon, you’ll return to the treatment room to have your new bridgework fitted by your chairside technician. You’ll leave with your first set of brand-new fixed teeth. Over the subsequent weeks, you’ll have the opportunity to adjust to your new smile before returning for your final set.
Sedation options

Additionally, for patients who experience anxiety or nervousness, we offer two types of sedation.
- Oral sedation – this is mixed with water and consumed shortly before the procedure. It can be combined with local anaesthesia.
- Intravenous sedation – this is administered through a needle in the arm and is also used alongside local anaesthesia.
Both of these choices enable patients to remain conscious and communicate with healthcare professionals. Our treatment is a meticulous and precise procedure that relies on patient collaboration to achieve optimal precision in implant placement, bite record taking, and prosthesis positioning. Additionally, both options induce an amnesic effect, potentially resulting in the patient having partial or complete memory loss of the procedure, despite their ability to communicate.
